It transpires that the City Council’s online survey provider did not record the park cyclewalk survey responses because of a digital fault. So they are opening the consultation again until 26 February. If you submitted a response before 20 January, it is hoped you will do it again. The website is: www.edinburgh.gov.uk/cyclewalk

And to Alan Lander, a Chartered Financial Analyst at https://www.walterscott.co.uk/, who has scrutinised our accounts for nothing, for ages, even though he lives on the other side of the city. Thanks, Alan!

Quite Route 8 Consultation now open until 25 November
The Quiet Route 8 Cycle improvements in Roseburn Park are now out for consultation by the Council. You can find it all in the link below and as ever we think lots of people should have a say (it’s open until 25 Nov): https://consultationhub.edinburgh.gov.uk/…/de…/consult_view/
Some comments already to be found here: Council consultation on park cycling management
Council consultation on park cycling management
The Council will shortly commence a consultation on a proposal for the management of cycling/walking in the park.
At the FoRP AGM there was concern that just splitting the path might lead to cyclists going faster and dogs and toddlers not observing the split. However the blind spot by the toilet block needed attention.
In discussion with the Council the idea of a 3-month trial to split cyclists and walkers only around the central area was suggested, with cyclists “give way” signs on either side of the blindspot.
